Katie Hartman was born and raised in New York City. She attended the University of Pennsylvania where she served as the student president of Penn Hillel. She also spent a semester abroad at Hebrew University in Jerusalem. After graduating, Katie was a Teach for America corps member in Philly and attended Penn’s Graduate School of Education at night. Katie is currently a teacher at The Shefa School, a Jewish day school for students with language-based learning disabilities. She enjoys being involved in UJA’s Young Leaders programs and is the co-chair of Met Council’s Under 40s board. She’s excited and honored to be an observer on Hunter Hillel’s board this year!
