Lisa B. Pollack, ESQ.
Executive Director
Lisa Buchsbaum Pollack joined Hunter College Hillel as Executive Director in 2007. Lisa received her B.A. Cum Laude from Barnard College and her J.D. from Columbia University School of Law. Before joining Hunter Hillel, Lisa practiced law for more than fifteen years, specializing in the areas of litigation and bankruptcy/corporate law. Lisa also clerked for a Federal Judge. She served as the Executive Vice President of the Solomon Schechter Day School of Suffolk County and of Congregation Tifereth Israel in Glen Cove and sat on both Boards for many years. Lisa served as the Director of Admissions at the Solomon Schechter Day School of Suffolk County. She served as a Vice President of the Board of the Melillo Center For Mental Health and continues to be a member of their Board. Lisa has continued throughout her career to lend her professional expertise to clergy and secular and community based not-for profits on Long Island.

Niva is joining the Hunter Hillel team as the Social Work Intern this year. She received her B.A. from Yeshiva University's Stern College and is now a second-year graduate student at the Wurzweiler School of Social Work. A passionate and ardent advocate for Israel and young Jewish leadership, Niva spent the past six years working for Bnei Akiva, a worldwide Religious Zionist Youth Movement. Last year she was the Regional Director of Bnei Akiva of New York and New Jersey.
Niva is available to you for all sorts of support. Whether you need help with a Hillel-related project, have questions about Judaism or Israel, want to talk to someone confidentially, or just want to chat between classes - she is a resource for you to turn to.
Niva can be found at the Hillel Lounge in room 501 of Thomas Hunter Hall and hopes you'll stop by!

Aaron Lerner graduated with honors from the University of Southern California in 2002 with a BS in Business Administration and a Spanish minor. He was active at USC Hillel where he designed a service-learning curriculum for USC's first alternative spring break trip to Uruguay. Upon graduation Aaron lived in Israel for two years where he studied Jewish texts at Pardes and Yeshivat Bat Ayin. Upon returning to Los Angeles he worked for four years as a successful investment banker. A passion for Torah and the Jewish people led Aaron to enroll himself in Yeshivat Chovevei Torah in 2008 where he is studying to be a rabbi. Aaron is a licensed California real estate broker and a Wexner Graduate Fellow.
